Course Description: Highlights of the portfolio process:
•Actively involves individuals, family members, and care providers
•Promotes a positive view of the child
•Builds on what a child “can do” and “enjoys doing”
•Identifies natural learning opportunities
•Builds supports based on strengths, hopes, and dreams
•Allows for families from a wide range of cultures to share their child’s strengths, hopes, and dreams with others in the community
•Provides valuable input to the Individualized Family Service Plan
•Assists in helping family members and providers develop outcomes that are based on child participation and engagement.
Participants will receive a portfolio as part of the training. Additional copies will be available.
